Nicolas Cage Watch Collection – Celebrity Watch Collection | SwissWatchExpo

From SwissWatchExpo…
Spotlight on: Nicolas Cage and his Rolex watch collection. Nicolas Cage was once ubiquitous in Hollywood,
starring in hits like National Treasure, Con Air, and Leaving Las Vegas.  Cage has
also received an Academy Award, a Golden Globe, and Screen Actors Guild Award along
the way. You can say he was one of the biggest actors
of the 1990s, especially in the action-adventure genre. These days, you’ll find him in mostly
obscure and indie movies, resulting in a wildly varied range of roles throughout his career. Perhaps his career choices also reflect his
taste in watches. Nicolas has made some outlandish choices – such as a leopard print, diamond
pave Rolex Daytona – but for the most part, his choice Rolex watches are classic and timeless. So which timepieces can we find in his very
diverse Rolex collection? Stay tuned to find out! Nic has the iconic Rolex Submariner in his
collection, and it has made a cameo in some of his films. The Rolex Submariner has been around since
1952, and Rolex keeps improving its excellent design. The ref 16610 is the last of the Submariners
to have the aluminum bezel insert, as opposed to the upgraded Cerachrom ceramic bezel. It remains popular among those who want the
functionality of the Submariner, but love its classic tapered size and rugged look.
It’s perfect for the adventure roles that Nicolas has played. Of course, Nic also has the ultimate status
symbol – the Rolex President Day-Date watch. The timepiece of leaders and influential men. His choice model is the Day-Date with the
elegant and smooth black Onyx dial. When featured in Rolex dials, these are often spotless,
which create a nice contrast against yellow gold. Nic also wore a platinum Rolex Day-Date in
his 2016 black comedy film, The Trust. The Day-Date is offered exclusively in precious
metal – that is, gold and platinum, making it the brand’s most exclusive timepiece. Nic is also quite known for his eccentric
taste in luxury goods. He counts very rare and fascinating Rolex timepieces in his collection. Can you say, ”Wild”? That’s what this
Rolex Cosmograph Daytona is. Featuring a leopard textured diamond dial and leopard printed
bracelet, it’s a Rolex watch that you won’t see on many wrists. Here we see him wearing a vintage Rolex Moonphase
reference 6062 (sixty-sixty-two). The annual calendar “triple-date” moon phase features
star indices, and was created as far back as the 1950s. It was later auctioned off by Christie’s
for a cool $594,000 dollars. Now let’s go to Nick’s most recent acquisitions.
He has the new Rolex GMT-Master II in Everose Gold. Launched at Baselworld 2018, this is the first
GMT-Master to come in Rolex’s proprietary rose gold alloy. A sporty watch with a classy
twist! He also has the Rolex Sky-Dweller, which is
a powerhouse timepiece. Protected by up to 14 patents, the Sky-Dweller
has a dual-time feature, a calendar wheel that tells the date, and a 24-hour disc that
distinguishes daytime and night-time hours. Talk about a multitasker! Rolex is more famous for its tool watches,
but you shouldn’t sleep on the Rolex Cellini dress watch. The Cellini Moonphase is the first Rolex to
bring back the moonphase complication to their watches, since the 1950s. Now that’s a modern
classic. Nic’s Rolex collection has something for
every watch lover. Which one was your favorite? Tell us in the
