Just like in previous years, the Rolex Daytona is the most interesting and sought-after watch in our shop in 2016. I agree, but this year, another watch has surpassed the Daytona. Today we talk about modern watches that are especially sought after in our shop. I think Nautilus by Patek Philippe is the new number 1. Thomas, isn’t there a shortage? You can hardly find a steel Nautilus in the shop windows. It is being traded overpriced. I believe it is the most sought-after watch of 2016. The market is starved. Starved! Sold out!
And they are scratched easily. You have to be careful when wearing a Nautilus. That’s why I brought along another classic. The Audemars Piguet Royal Oak used to be one of my favorites during the 90s. At that time it was still reasonably priced. You were the first one who wore an Off-Shore and people laughed at you. They marvelled at the monster on your wrist. Today these watches are even bigger. Today they are bigger. And that is not the only change. Unlike the original, these days it comes with a ceramic bezel, special buttons and a rubber strap. Quite a lot of details have been redesigned. But it is still an icon. Especially the Royal Oak, not only the Off-Shore variant. And it is always in high demand in our shop.
Certainly one of the most masculine watches one can buy new.
Truly a hot seller at Bachmann & Scher is the Panerai Mariner. Here I have a 1950s model. It has a three day power reserve.
It is not just especially beautiful with its distinct movement, but really interesting. But above all, our customers love it. It’s a basic watch. Whoever thinks about a diver’s watch can’t go past a Panerai Mariner.
At least mentally. To me, still one of the most exciting simple watches with a great feature is the Rolex GMT Master.
The travel feature. The travel feature.
Something I actually use. A second time zone.
It has not only have the looks of a diver’s watch, it can also display a second time zone with the green hand. The case is an evergreen.
I’m impressed by the five-year warranty, Rolex came up with just a few months ago.
This really builds trust in the technique and the mechanics.
It is something you always wanted. This was a great move by Rolex. Absolutely!´
I guess, a lot of people feel that way. Therefore, Rolex is on an all-time-high, once again.
Correct. We must not forget about Omega. It is very strong at Bachman & Scher. Today I picked a manual winding Speedmaster. This watch also comes with an automatic caliber with a coaxial escapement. This manual winder is a successor of the moon watch. The watch on the wrists of the astronauts who were the first ones to take a step on the moon in 1968.
Still very modern. Still modern. A style icon. Its value for money is unmatched. When speaking about Jaeger, one has to mention the Reverso. One of the rectangle watches, that is always in high demand. By now, it is available in various sizes so that men with big hands and wrists can wear this watch, too. Could you wear it?
Yes I could. This model is retro design, reminiscent of the 30s. We sell a lot of Reversos to women. Especially the small and the golden variants. I think it is a real classic and evergreen, and a lot of clients see it the same way. This IWC Yacht Club is one of the most exciting new IWC-watches of the last years. One might take this one for a Portuguese watch. But when you hold it, you notice that it is all about being water-proof. It has a beautiful Pellaton caliber, visible through the glass bottom. It is one of the most exciting and best selling watches at Bachmann & Scher. And finally a golden watch after all the steel made watches we spoke about. The Yacht-Master rose gold was introduced about a year ago. Yes.
It has been a ground breaking success. It is amazing how many people tried to buy it new.
By now, the first used ones are out in the market and in our shop. They are very sought-after. It is the first Rolex with a rubber strap. Right, and a ceramic bezel.
I expected it to be bigger. But because of the black dial and black bezel, it looks smaller. Of course, it is superbly crafted. Rolex is embarking on a whole new style. It comes in two sizes. The one you are holding is 40 millimeters. But they also come in 38 or 37 millimeters. That’s good for a big woman or a small man. One of the most sought-after watches at Bachmann & Scher in 2016.
Yes. What makes these best sellers so successful in our shop? That’s a mystery. There are things we just don’t know. It could be the way certain things are perceived, their quality, brand communication, the model…
Is there a movie star, wearing the watch? Hard to tell. Some watches take a long time to turn into best sellers. Are today’s top selling watches tomorrow’s investment watches? This is written in the stars. Not automatically.
I would say there is a high probability that a current best selling watch can easily be placed in the second-hand market within the next years.
People could just as well sell it back to us. I consider it luxury to buy a watch. And you should enjoy this luxury. It should be fun. You can buy a watch as an investment. But that should not be the only reason. Buy it, if you really like it. And when you enjoy doing it, then that is called luxury. We hope we could give you some new information on modern wrist watches at Bachmann & Scher. Watches should be fun!

  3. I love the Nautilus and Royal Oak… probably my two favorite watches and the Nautilus design was actually inspired by the Royal Oak. It's made by Patek though so quality wise it's even better than the original and it just has everything you would expect in a high end dress watch with the ruggedness and heft of a sports watch. My only problem is that the steel versions have such a high premium on them now… steel Nautilus without any complication are going for about $40k and the ones with complications are going from $50-100k. I think my ideal model would be the Chronograph in Rose gold, which goes for just above $100k. Hopefully I am able to save up for that one day or maybe the prices on the steel Chronograph will go back down to around $20k at which point I'll buy it.

Geburtstag feiert an diesem Tag ?;) Mit freundlichen Grüßen
